Privacy policy
MockSnap is built to keep your work private. Your screenshots never leave your device, there are no accounts, and we only use analytics if you say yes.
Who we are
MockSnap (mocksnap.app and app.mocksnap.app) is a free tool operated by Sanjay Shrestha, based in Nepal. For any privacy question or request, email hello@mocksnap.app.
Your screenshots and mockups
MockSnap runs entirely in your browser. The screenshots you add and the mockups you create are processed on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or shared with anyone.
So your work is still there next time, the app saves your screenshots and settings in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB and local storage) on your device. We can't see them. You can remove them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
What we collect
You can use MockSnap without giving us your name, email or any account details. The only data we may collect is described below.
Analytics, only with your consent
If you click Accept on our cookie banner, we use two analytics tools to understand how MockSnap is used and to improve it. If you click Reject, or don't choose, neither is loaded.
-
Google Analytics (Google) collects pages visited, clicks and other interactions, approximate location (derived
from your IP address), device, browser and referring site. It sets cookies named
_gaand_ga_*, which last up to 2 years. -
Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) records how pages are used, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, to
produce heatmaps and session replays, along with device and browser details. It sets cookies named
_clck(up to 1 year) and_clsk(1 day). Text you type into MockSnap's text fields is masked, and the images in your mockups are not captured.
Analytics data is kept according to these providers' retention settings: no longer than 14 months for Google Analytics reports, and up to 13 months for Clarity, whose session recordings are deleted after 30 days. We don't use this data to identify you, show you ads, or sell it to anyone.
MockSnap Pro waitlist, only if you sign up
If you join the Pro waitlist on mocksnap.app, we store your email address, the Pro features you ticked (if any) and the date you signed up. We use this only to email you about MockSnap Pro and to decide which features to build. We don't share it or use it for anything else. It's stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare.
You can unsubscribe from any email we send, or ask us to delete your details at any time by emailing hello@mocksnap.app. We delete waitlist entries within 12 months after Pro launches, or sooner if you ask.
Technical data needed to run the site
- Hosting and security. MockSnap is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Fonts. The mocksnap.app pages use fonts hosted on our own site. The app (app.mocksnap.app) loads its headline fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.
Cookies and local storage
mocksnap_consentremembers your cookie choice for 6 months. It's essential and set on both MockSnap sites.- Browser storage keeps your theme (light or dark), sidebar preference, settings and screenshots on your device.
- Analytics cookies (listed above) are only set if you accept.
You can change your choice at any time using . If you switch to Reject, existing analytics cookies are deleted.
Where data is processed
Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare operate worldwide, so data they handle may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.
Your choices and rights
- Accept or reject analytics, and change your mind later, using Cookie settings.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Ask us about the data analytics may hold, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing hello@mocksnap.app. Because we don't collect names or emails, we may need details such as the date and time of your visit to find it.
Children
MockSnap isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how MockSnap handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
